Many companies are interested in getting their new hires trained as fast as humanly possible. This is understandable of course, but that means that you have to think really long and hard about how you are going to train them. While there are several ways to get the fastest results in the training process, more often than not, training them via training software isn’t the best move.
Most people, whether they spend time filling out surveys on kissinsights.com or whether they are fans of cooking, are visual learners. To you this might mean that training software will be the best fit for them but that couldn’t be any further from the truth. Many people are best taught when they are learn hands on. This means the act of doing and repetition.
So what is the best way to train employees? Well, for most it has to do with shadowing someone. You want someone who is a very good worker and does things the best possible way. Setting a new hire up with someone who will cut corners will only serve to hurt your business in the long run. Of course this would take away a little from your employees productivity but it might result in a better new hire by learning from someone you consider to be the best.
Learning videos are helpful for things like company policies, but for learning the equipment or the procedures, especially when it comes to known trouble shooting issues you have to be aware of. Videos are nice, but it can never replace hands on learning.
